  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil Or substitute with any neutral oil.
For the Stuffing
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning Or substitute with cajun seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Or use fresh minced garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt Adjust according to preference.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground is best.
  • 1 pound Lump Crabmeat Fresh or canned will work.
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise Opt for vegan mayo for a lighter version.
  • 1 large Egg Can be omitted or replaced with flaxseed meal.
  • ½ cup Breadcrumbs Use Italian, panko, or cracker crumbs.
  • 3 tablespoons Chipotle Sauce Adobo sauce can also be used.
For the Finishing Touches
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Melted; dairy-free alternatives can be used.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for adding to butter.
  • Lemon Juice Fresh juice works best for garnishing.
  • 1 teaspoon Cilantro Finely chopped; parsley or green onions can be used.

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel and devein the shrimp, keeping the tails intact. Butterfly each shrimp to create a pocket.
  2. Toss the butterflied shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, sea salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Mix mayonnaise, egg, and chipotle sauce in a bowl. Fold in crabmeat and breadcrumbs until combined.
  4. Stuff each shrimp with a spoonful of the crab filling and fold the tail back to secure.
  5. Arrange the stuffed shrimp in a single layer in a baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until shrimp are opaque and the filling is golden.
  7. Prepare garlic butter by melting butter with minced garlic until fragrant. Optionally add more chipotle sauce.
  8. Drizzle garlic butter over baked shrimp and garnish with cilantro and lemon juice.
  9. Serve with dips or in taco shells as desired.
