Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and unsalted butter over low to medium heat. Add finely sliced onions and cook slowly for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Stir in chili oil, then pour in heavy cream and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper, simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook your choice of pasta according to package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes.
  4. Drain pasta, reserving a cup of pasta water. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the creamy sauce, tossing to coat.
  5. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, adding reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick, and stir in fresh parsley before serving.
