Step-by-Step Instructions for Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwich
  1. Slice the fresh sourdough bread into four 1/2-inch thick pieces, creating a sturdy foundation.
  2. Layer the creamy camembert cheese on two of the sourdough slices, then sprinkle with fresh thyme, lemon zest, and ground pepper.
  3. Slice the honeycrisp apple thinly and arrange the apple slices on top of the camembert cheese.
  4. On the remaining two slices of bread, place a layer of sharp aged cheddar cheese.
  5. Close each sandwich by placing the cheese-covered slices against the apple-topped slices.
