Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 2 bags Black Tea Consider using loose leaf tea (2 tsp) for a fresher taste.
  • 4 cups Water Essential for both brewing the tea and preparing the mango infusion.
For the Mango Infusion
  • 1 Ripe Mango You can replace this with frozen mango cubes or store-bought mango nectar for convenience.
For Sweetening
  • 2 tbsp Honey Feel free to adjust the quantity or substitute with sugar or a sugar alternative based on your preference.
For Serving
  • Ice Use ice made from tea or mango juice to keep the flavors intact.

Equipment

  • kettle
  • Saucepan
  • Pitcher
  • fine-mesh sieve

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by boiling 2 cups of water in a kettle or saucepan over medium heat. Once boiling, remove it from heat and add the 2 black tea bags. Let the tea steep for about 10 minutes.
  2. While the tea is steeping, chop the ripe mango into small pieces. In a separate saucepan, combine the diced mango with the remaining 2 cups of water. Bring this mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. After simmering, remove the mango mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly. Strain the mango puree through a fine mesh sieve directly into the pitcher with the steeped tea.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of honey to the pitcher and stir well until the honey completely dissolves into the warm mixture.
  5. Let your Mango Iced Tea cool to room temperature, about 10-15 minutes. Fill glasses with ice made from tea or mango juice, pour the chilled mango tea over the ice and garnish with fresh mango slices.
