- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix with eggs and oil. Pour into a greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Once the cake has cooled slightly, poke holes throughout the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and butter to make the praline sauce, stirring until melted and smooth. Pour over the poked cake.
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until it thickens. Gradually add powdered sugar and continue whisking until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream evenly over the top of the chilled cake and optional sprinkle of chopped pecans.
- Slice into squares and serve on dessert plates.
