Equipment

  • Piping bag
  • large deep skillet or fryer
  • Microwave-safe Bowl

Method

Steps
  1. Begin by placing the Nutella in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat it in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds until it's warm and easily pourable, stirring halfway through for an even consistency.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until a smooth ball of dough forms.
  4. Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes on the counter.
  5. Incorporate 2 beaten eggs into the dough, mixing vigorously until it transforms into a smooth and glossy consistency.
  6. In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.
  7. In a large, deep skillet or fryer, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  8. Carefully transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch lengths of dough directly into the hot oil.
  9. Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  10. While the churros are still warm, carefully roll each one in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.
  11. Arrange your freshly coated Nutty Churro Bites on a serving platter and serve warm alongside the melted Nutella.
