Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Gather all your ingredients and tools for a smooth cooking process.
  2. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar, brown sugar, and ½ cup of butter along with ⅓ cup of heavy cream. Stir over medium heat until dissolved.
  3. Increase heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil, cooking until it reaches a firm-ball stage of 245°F (118°C) while stirring gently.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of chopped pecans and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space as they will spread.
  6. Allow to cool and set at room temperature for about 1-2 hours until firm.
